242 Groups

Acts 2:42 – And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

At Providence Reformed Church, we offer regular, home-based groups called 242 groups (“Two-Four-Two groups”. The name comes from Acts 2:42, and the purpose of these groups is that we might grow together in Christ.

At a 242 group, the evening will include prayer, discussion of Scripture, and enjoying time together. We will pray with and for each other. We will take time to discuss the message from Sunday morning with an eye toward personal application. We will also take time to simply enjoy each other’s company, to get to know each other, and to grow in biblical fellowship—doing life together to the glory of God.

We offer two different 242 groups, each of which meets every-other-week. The groups are located on the northwest and southeast sides of the valley respectively. They meet in the homes of members who have graciously opened up their houses for us to gather, and they last for about an hour-and-a-half. You could attend one of these groups every two weeks, or you could join in at both if you prefer to meet weekly. You are welcome to join in the conversation, or to just listen if that better fits your personality.

We would love for everyone connected to Providence Reformed Church to give our 242 groups a try. They are a great way to get to know others, to grow in your faith, and to simply enjoy life together. If you would like to attend one of our groups, let us know, and we will make sure you know the way to get there.
